Los Angeles Sanitation & Environment
The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Bureau of Sanitation (LASAN) is responsible for managing critical water quality data collected for the various monitoring programs and watersheds, including monitoring for NPDES Permits, Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs), and other water quality studies. Tetra Tech is providing highly specialized technical support services to develop and maintain complex tools and systems to support LASAN’s monitoring programs to meet their increasing demands in scope and capacity.
Tetra Tech developed and hosts a centralized data management system to support LASAN’s sample collection, data analysis and reporting, and real-time monitoring systems. The data management system features a sample planner, a field data collection application, web-based tools for reporting, imports and exports of data in California Environmental Data Exchange Network (CEDEN) formats, and notifications for criteria exceedances.
Tetra Tech is providing technical support for data analysis and reporting tools, including the development of a dashboard type data analysis and presentation tool, development of a comprehensive data analysis tool to assess water quality monitoring data along with various water quality objectives to conduct exceedance and compliance analyses, and the integration of historical data for long-term trend analysis.
Tetra Tech is also assisting LASAN in the maintenance and improvement of the functionality and reliability of real-time monitoring systems in the upper LA River and Santa Monica Bay watersheds and staff augmentation to support LASAN’s sampling programs.
