State Water Project Contractors Authority Municipal Water Quality Investigations Program

Tetra Tech has been providing hardware and software technical support to the State Water Project Contractors Authority (SWPCA) Municipal Water Quality Investigations (MWQI) Program. The mission of the MWQI Program is to support the effective and efficient use of the California State Water Project (SWP) as a source water supply for municipal purposes through monitoring, forecasting, and reporting of Sacramento San Joaquin Delta and the SWP water quality. This includes providing early warning of changing conditions in source water quality used for municipal purposes and providing data and knowledge-based support for operational decision-making on the SWP.

Tetra Tech performs the following services for the MWQI Program:

  • Maintenance and enhancement of the MWQI Program website, including performing weekly additions and maintaining and enhancing an ongoing archive of MWQI work products, modeling studies, reports, data and related documents.

  • Maintenance of MWQI’s current data transfer system and database for storage of high volumes of real time data including data collected from various DWR units and other agencies.

  • Support for development of a Quality Assurance/Quality Control process for real time data.

  • Development of software components for analyzing and disseminating water quality data. These include an external website, intranet applications, and Windows forms applications.

  • Support and setup services for field instrumentation, field computers and other data logging and transfer equipment, and for the communication systems between remote field stations and headquarters.
