RIVRISK
is a Windows-based modeling tool developed by Tetra Tech for the Electric
Power Research Institute (EPRI) that provides a comprehensive evaluation of a
facility’s effects on its receiving river.
What can RIVRISK do?
-
Determine chemical
concentrations in rivers due to direct discharges, groundwater seepage,
and atmospheric deposition
-
Determine
carcinogenic and noncarcinogenic human health risks from 16 exposure
pathways due to contamination of groundwater, air, or surface
water
-
Evaluate risks to
aquatic organisms
-
Assess uncertainty
in exposure concentrations and human health risks via Monte Carlo
analysis
-
Evaluate thermal
discharges
-
Simulate
discharges to small streams which eventually discharge to a large
river
-
Predict the fate
of the chlorine residual and in-situ formation of chloroform
